Alvydas Lukis' monograph presents the author's work of the last three decades. Published works were created from 1987 to 2015. The theoretical part of the book actualized the artist's creative practices in the context of Lithuanian and world culture.

Alvydas Lukys is an artist, curator and lecturer at Vilnius Academy of Arts. His artistic interests are related to the concepts of time, everyday life and memory. Academic and curatorial activities cover the fields of cultural anthropology and photography in contemporary art. Since 1978 he has participated in exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad. The works of the photographer have been acquired by the Lithuanian Art Museum, Odense Museum of Photographic Art (Denmark), Modern Art Center in Vilnius, Lithuanian Photo Artists' Union, private collectors.
Lukys was born in 1958 in Šiauliai and graduated from Vilnius Engineering Construction Institute (now Vilnius Gediminas Technical University) in 1984. Since 1984 he has been a member of the Lithuanian Photo Artists' Union and in 1990 he started working in the photo studio of the Graphics Department of Vilnius Academy of Arts. He later became head of video studio, was co-founder of the Department of Studies, Photography and Media Art, and is a longtime head of the department. Since 2007 he has been a professor at Vilnius Academy of Arts, since 2010 he has been Chairman of the Art Doctoral Arts Direction Committee and head of seminars.
