Dovilė Dagienė. ČIA TADA, TEN DABAR / HERE THEN, THERE NOW

These analog photo cycles are based on the fact that sunlight reaches the Earth's surface in about 8 minutes. In each double-exposure print, there is an eight-minute gap between the captured light. Most of the photographs in this series were created using a photosensitive material - silver gelatin paper. The photographs in the series are single (with no negative) prints obtained using various large format cameras, optics and direct sunlight. The creative pursuits of the artistic research Here Then, There Now began with the desire to discover and express a unique way of understanding time and its characteristics in photography, by exploring the visual connections of memory, time and place through various experiments, trying to unfold some concept of a photographic image that it reflects the problems of modern society.
