I'm trying to imagine what that stimulus was, constantly encouraging Giedrių Liag to take pictures. The photographer in the traditional sense of naming him somehow fails. He's not from those who descend into the city (all the more like the villages), looking for spectacular images or characters, or collapsing on the ground in order to get the most elaborate rakurs. It is much more interesting for him to observe the bacon light falling on the grey dwarf masonry or to fix the inacious wall with the grotesque windows: how it looked at 14 o'clock 10 minutes, how a minute later, and then another... It can take pictures of an inconspicuous grass stem. Even a few times. Almost unchanged, identically. And then black-and-white stripes of negative slightly colored with red nail polish, which in a positive print will become the greenery of the stem. It seems that Mr Liago's aim is not to perpetuate the world around him, but to explore it, to play with him. <...>
