Richard Carpenter. IN THE LABYRINTHS OF TIME

Artist R. Dichavičius, 2007

<...> Photography is in itself different from the time we experience, because it refers to what has already been and will no longer be experienced. From here and all the soul bathing in the presence of photography. Photography is like saying, it's already lost, but try, empathize and maybe revive the past. Distracting between the present and the nostalgia of the past, we look for answers in photographs, so close become on the street dirty hands of university students lost somewhere in the Russian province and graceful their shins. We fly like that baby in the safe underarm of the mother, we go along with the passengers of the Soviet "gazik" in his "squatter" and thus once again experience the power of the black-and-white photographic image that Richard Carpenter has cherished for decades. Because he knows the photographic spell of time, video and the connection of life.
