This is the Vilnius of M. Sakalauskas' generation, which has been looked at through the eyes of one person for several decades. Therefore, the author does not limit himself to any period of his active activity, but extends the artistic documentary fixation of the city's architecture until the time when hands passed the camera. Among the many books about Vilnius, M. Sakalauska's photo album stands out for the historicity of the images, an unmistakable look, so it should remain for a long time as an iconographic source for researchers, restorers and all those interested in the city's architecture and lifestyle.
