Samantha B VIS – À – VIS

Sud. V. Samulionytė, artist G. Skudžinskas, published by Lithuanian Photo Artists' Union, Lithuanian Photo Artists' Union Photography Foundation, 2020.

The new publication publishes both the early and recently created works of Violeta Bubelytė. This book is like a dialogue between two Violets – the early black-and-white, often melancholic Violets and today's, noisy and somewhat ironic Violets. In this way, the individual performance created by the artist in each individual print is combined into a sixty-nine-part thriller. And the viewer is invited to a personal visual adventure. According to Adam Mazur, author of the essay published in the book, "The creator fascinates and enchants the audience. She is magical, and her body and face can be calmly observed for hours. Paintings are like a screen showing the viewer's emotions and feelings. One will be impressed, the other upset, the third excited, the fourth annoyed, but none will remain indifferent. Violeta Bubelytė accepts all emotions and soul vibrations as a compliment. She doesn't want to accept only one thing : indifference."
