Photography published on the cover of the book is the key to opening up virgilijus Šonta's creations. It is a double self-portrait that captures the domestic transformation that occurs in a few minutes – a man shads his hair and mustache. The face changes almost beyond recognition, but does the woodwork it represents change? Probably not, because the transformations of the 19th century last longer. But that viewer is left undecided – which is the real Sean? – becomes the image of the photographer's creative life. <...>
It is a virtual reality of art, but also documenting social phenomena Sean observed those who have no place in the normal world. In the image of the "Baltic Way", which has become a national legend, Šonta's will becomes a young man demonstrating his nudity in the rockers' squad – they are the autists of political discourse. Already in the early 1980s, when photographing siauliai auxiliary school-boarding students ("School – my home"), Sean entered the social sidelines.
