Southern - this is the name given to the micro-districts of Soviet apartment buildings in the southern part of Šiauliai: Lieporiai, Dainai, Gytariai, Gegužiai.
The book is an intuitive photographic narrative that invites us to reflect on the relationship between a person and a place of residence that is not characterized by uniqueness or aesthetic expression. For the author, who grew up in a similar apartment complex in another city, Southern it looked both familiar and alien at the same time. It was this duality that determined the choice to maintain the position of an observer.
